How Buildr's trade price works: five paid orders, then trade

Every Buildr account starts at the public price. Once your fifth order is paid, you move to the trade price, and the difference you paid on those first five comes back to you as store credit. No form, no code, nothing to apply for.

Everyone starts at the public price

When you sign up, every quote shows the public price, in the app, on the web and on WhatsApp with Bob. That's the price you pay on your first five orders.

Your fifth paid order unlocks the trade price

After your fifth paid order, every new quote and order on your account is at the trade price. Nobody reviews it and you don't send in a form. Your order count does it. For one example, a 2-panel door for a 72 by 80 opening with a white edge is $255.00 public and $235.00 trade, in CAD plus HST. The gap is different on other doors and sizes, so check the price on screen.

What happens to what you paid before

On each order before you reach trade, Buildr records the difference between the public price and the trade price as credit. On the example door, that's $20.00 a door. Once your fifth order is paid, all of that credit unlocks as store credit. It comes off your next order at checkout without you doing anything. HST is charged on the amount after the credit. If you have more credit than the order costs, the rest stays on your account for the next one. Every payment is at least $0.50, which is Stripe's minimum.

A worked example

This is an example only. Your numbers depend on the doors you order.

  • Orders 1 to 5: one 2-panel 72 × 80 white door each, at $255.00. Each banks $20.00, so $100.00 after the fifth order is paid.
  • Order 6 and after: the same door is $235.00.
  • Order 6: $235.00 minus the $100.00 credit leaves $135.00, plus HST on $135.00.

What doesn't count

  • Cancelled or unpaid orders.
  • Fully refunded orders. They don't count toward the five, and their credit comes off. A partly refunded order still counts.
  • A full refund that takes you below five paid orders puts your account back on the public price until you reach five again.
  • The rush fee. It's never part of the credit.

Prices on placed orders don't change

An order keeps the price it was placed at. Reaching trade doesn't lower the price on orders you've already placed. Those orders give you the credit instead.

Questions installers ask

Do I need a discount code?

No. Buildr doesn't use codes. Your account moves to the trade price on its own.

Can I get the credit as cash?

No. It's store credit and comes off your Buildr orders.

Does it work for orders through Bob on WhatsApp?

Yes. It's the same account and the same count.

I have a custom price set on my account. Does this apply?

No. Accounts with a custom price agreed with Buildr, and dealer accounts, keep that price.
